Liverpool are set to focus on some outgoings after a busy summer so far.
With the arrival of Milos Kerkez, the Merseysiders are well stacked in the left-bafk role.
It would not be a surprise to see one of the two depart before the window closes.
The Reds’ summer 2025 transfer business has been nothing short of sensational so far.
From signing Jeremie Frimpong for way less than his market value, to recouping €10 million from the ‘Bosman exit’ of Trent Alexander-Arnold and inserting a buy-back clause in the £35m deal that took Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool chief negotiator Richard Hughes has been on his ‘A game’ this summer.
So far, Liverpool have made over £60 million from player sales, and more is expected before the summer window closes.
One player Liverpool could recoup some money from is left-back Owen Beck.
Back in June, DaveOCKOP exclusively revealed that Rangers were keen to sign the left-back on a permanent deal.
Earlier on Monday, we exclusively reported that the Scottish Premiership giants were continuing to negotiate with the Reds to bring the Welsh international to the Ibrox Stadium.
Our report revealed that Liverpool and Rangers are apart in their valuation of the player.
While Liverpool want a fee in the region of £10 million, Rangers seek a compromise closer to £7 million.
Rangers deal off
We can now confirm that the transfer is off after both clubs have failed to reach a compromise in the transfer fee.
Interestingly, Rangers are not the only club keen on Beck.
Wrexham are also interested in the 22-year-old left back.
However, the Welsh outfit would need to make player sales before moving for Beck.
His local roots – being born in Wrexham – and his family connection to Ian Rush make him an appealing target for the Racecourse Ground side.
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has publicly commented club’s focus on the loan market this summer, aiming to “attract a better calibre of player” and bolster the squad depth.
Beck spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, where he made 24 league appearances and scored once.
He won the club’s Young Player of the Season after impressing on loan at the Championship club.
Derby lead race for Beck
Derby County are also interested in the left back, and they are not giving up on signing him on loan.
Current Derby County manager John Eustace was Beck’s manager at Blackburn Rovers where he excelled last season.
Beck is now in talks to join Derby on loan?
The deal is not agreed yet but talks are looking positive at this stage.
